Eleven color illustrated, split back postcards depicting scenes from Mount Vernon, home to George Washington (1732-1799), first president of the United States, and the church at Alexandria, Virginia where he worshipped. They include four issued in 1920 by the Mount Vernon Association, showing the flower garden, east front, bowling green entrance, and west front. The others, published by B.S. Reynolds Co. of Washington, D.C., show the bowling green, the Texas gate, the gardens, and, at Alexandria, the Christ Church where Washington worshipped and an interior shot of the church with a red asterisk that marks Washington's pew. Standard postcard backings. Each 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches.
