Contracted by the government to survey the area first discovered by Oxley some twenty years previously, Hodgkinson carried out a thorough and extensive exploration & surveying of the northern river lands from Port Macquarie to Moreton Bay carried out between 1840 and 1842. This was one of the few explorations to relate to this specific area of Queensland. Wantrup 158a sites a variant 1st issue.
