London: 1828. Print. HMS Discovery sailed with Captain James Cook on his third voyage. Etching by one of the great marine artists of the nineteenth century, 20 x 16.5 cm, with sharp impression marks. Showing 'The Discovery' in its incarnation as a convict ship, lying completely above water, and with laundry flapping in the breeze, so that it looks like a beached boarding house. From a series of marine etchings by Cooke. Very good condition. Item #14386
