Commercial advertiser and New York newspaper reporting Boyd Massacre and Maori Cannibalism.

New York: June 8, 1811. Full column report on the December 1809 attack by Maori residents of Whangaroa Harbour on the ship "Boyd". In the attack, between 66 and 70 Europeans were killed and "Captain Thompson and his unfortunate men were all murdered on the spot, and their bodies were afterward devoured by the murderers..." Full column at second page, 18 column inches.

The New York newspaper also with a front page concerning money owed by owners of vacant lots in the city, titled, "Important Corporation Notice" by the Street Commissioners Office of New York. There is a large printed table providing a list of the vacant city lots and lot owners names, with outstanding taxes due "for regulating, filling or paving sundry streets herein". The list of owners names includes John R. Livingston (the younger brother of Chancellor Robert Livingston, and the son of Robert R. and Margaret (Beekman) Livingston), Ogilvies, the Widows Society, Heirs of N. Bayard, and more.

Large folio, disbound, 4pp, 13 x 20". Water stained, and creased yet in acceptable condition. Ruffled at edges. Good + overall. Item #22132
