The first four issues of Steichen's influential photographic quarterly displaying works by Steichen, Edward Weston, Eliot Porter, Arnold Genthe, Rockwell Kent, Ruth Nichols, Paul Outerbridge, Arthur Gerlach, Lewis Hine, Ben Glaha, William Winter, Martin Hyman, Walter Ranzini and others.

The first number includes an essay, "Good Pictures," by Steichen and an advertisement and entry form for the "first 'US Camera' competition, open to all photographers, professional and amateur. The four numbers are printed on thick paper with high quality photoengraving, photographs mostly in black and white, but each issue featuring a few color pages.

4to, the first 2 numbers are spiral-bound, all have black and white pictorial wrappers. Number 1: 72pp, a bit chipped & creased at front wrapper corners. Number 2: 84pp, slight crease upper corner front wrapper, o/w very good condition. Number 3: 80pp, staplebound, very slight creases at corners front wrapper. Number 4: 78pp, staplebound, edges front wrapper a bit rubbed. Internally clean and unmarked; with the original perforated subscription order forms included. Item #22309
