Illustrations by Frederick Barnard and others. Engraved by Dalziel Brothers. With the engraved bookplate of Robert Heysham Sayre, with engraved illustration of a locomotive and the motto "Who Maintains Obtains". Robert Heysham Sayre (1824 – 1907) was vice president and chief engineer of the Lehigh Valley Railroad, and vice president and general manager of Bethlehem Iron Company, which later became Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
4to, xvi, 327 pp, b&w frontispiece, with 100 b&w ills throughout. Half vellum pictorial boards with title in black with red initial caps on front cover. Gilt title on cream colored vellum spine. Covers slightly dusty, spine a bit rubbed at base; corners lightly rubbed. Two front endpapers are loosely inserted. Small auction catalog listing tipped in on rear paste down. OCLC: 30697931.
