Volume I: 4to, 887pp. Rebound in brown cloth with no title on front cover or spine. Interior is very clean and is complete. The top edge of the front cover is slightly rippled from damp; and the front cover is dusty. Volume I contains a Proclamation of Abraham Lincoln dated April 15, 1861 and covers Regiments 1 through 38.
Volume II, 4to, 739pp, complete. This volume has also been rebound in brown cloth. There is a small handwritten title on a paper label taped to the spine. Internally very good, with light toning to edges of pages only at the end. This volume covers Regiments 39 through 67 and includes a Proclamation of Abraham Lincoln dated May 3, 1861.
Volume III, 4to, 865pp. This volume is lacking its boards and spine, but the brown marbled end papers are intact, with some chipping to the edges. Internally very good. Volume III covers Regiments 68 through 105.
Volume IV, 4to, 729pp, complete. This volume has green marbled boards and one quarter leather binding. The leather is rubbed, spine partially missing as well as title, boards detached. There is a library bookplate inside the front cover. Original green marbled end papers are intact. Internally very good. The volume begins with a "Letter from the Governors of the Loyal States to the President", with "The President's Reply", in which President Lincoln calls into service an additional 300,000 men. This volume covers Regiments 106 through 137. Good. Item #11459
