This volume is a facsimile of the first edition of the Generall Historie of Virginia. Modern vellum covers with two sets of ribbon ties, and a gilt coat of arms on the front cover. Gilt title on spine. A separate pamphlet contains a historical introduction by A.L. Rowse and bibliographical notes by Robert O. Dougan. The pamphlet and volume are contained in a gray cloth covered clamshell box lined with blue fabric. The title page is tipped on the front of the box, and a gilt title is on a small white label on the spine. The vellum covers of the volume are slightly warped; o/w very good. The clam shell box is rubbed at spine, cracked at top and base of the spine. Good + overall. Item #11462
