The title page states "Fellow of the American Philosophical Society, and Corresponding Member of the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia" and that the work is "Particularly adapted to the use of schools."
Tall 8vo, 152 pp, 8 folding charts. Original mottled leather boards with gilt title at red spine label (Gummere's Surveying). The book is very foxed, as with almost all copies seen, with a water crescent on early pages. Spine and corner tips a bit rubbed. Small NY bookseller label for Mahlon Day in the inside front cover.
