Hugh William Williams [1773-1829] a Scottish watercolor painter known as "Grecian Williams". This volume is made up of the plates and text that were originally published in his 'Select Views in Greece with Classical Illustrations' which was published in 12 parts between 1823 and 1829. The volume includes all the views from the 12 part series, includes and an engraved title page on thick paper dated 1827. William Miller, one of the best plate makers in Scotland, engraved 19 of the plates. Collated complete, the 2 volumes are bound in one.
4to, (7x10.5") 64 engraved plates after drawings by the author, all with explanatory text, both printed on thick paper, all edges gilt. A signed presentation binding by J. Wright. Dark green gilt stamped morocco with gilt decorated spine, all edges gilt, raised bands and red title piece.
