Freight circular for a London firm at 155 Fenchurch Street, dated 29th February, 1860, with the first listing for rates for shipping, Australian berth, for ships to Port Philip and Sydney, and small vessels suited for Adelaide, Hobart Town, and New Zealand. Also lists rates for Calcutta, Madras, Colombo, China, Bombay, Valparaiso, River Plate, and Rio Janeiro. Regarding China, a specific note it made: "The French Government are in the market, and 84 francs has been paid for Woosung, with Coals".
Below follows information on costs of freights from Calcutta; Chinchas; East Indies; United States; U. K.; Akyab, Rangoon, or Bassein; West Coast of America; West Coast of Mexico; Belize, Manzanilla and Minatitlan; and Black Sea.
With two tables on verso; Australian ports include King George's Sound, Adelaide, Port Philip and Sydney, for Coals per Keel, Goods, and Iron.
