Four Rotary Photographic Series Postcards of British Actresses.

London: Foulsham and Banfield, c1909. Four postcards that were part of the Rotary Photographic Series of photos of British actresses from the early decades of the 20th century, including Phyllis Dare (1674C; hand-colored), Gertie Millar as "Mitzi" in "The Girls of Gottenberg" (4488C), Hetty King (4999E) and Marie Studholme (4317O). The Rotary Photographic Co. was founded in 1901 but closed in 1916 during World War I. The company used rotary presses to introduce mass-produced postcards to the U.K. Its cards featured actors, military and naval figures, royalty and other popular subjects. Item #17031
