Four color printed, split back postcards with architecture from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, including the Samuel Lord house (card 11062), built in 1730, where Captain John Paul Jones boarded while superintending the building of the America at Badger's Island in 1779; Christ Church (11075) where the Russian peace service was held (after the signing in 1905 of the Treaty of Portsmouth, which ended the 1904-05 Russo-Japanese War; the 1789 home of John Wentworth, the first royal governor of New Hampshire at the beginning of the revolution (11073) and St. John's Church, built in 1808 on the site of Queen's Chapel, which had been built in 1732.
