The expedition to South Georgia of 1912 - 1913, was a collaboration of the American Museum of Natural History and the owners of the brig "Daisy" of New Bedford, with a representative of the Museum of the Brooklyn Institute. "The chief objects of the trip were to make a collection of birds at South Georgia, and to secure skeletons and skins of the southern sea-elephant (Mirounga leonina)." (p43). Tall 8vo, pp 43 - 102, b&w photographic ills. Gray printed paper wrappers, with list of publications of the museums at back wrapper. Very good condition. Item #19516
