A charming color lithograph original poster depicting two elegant American female "gyrationists", hanging from ropes held by their teeth, one dressed in pink the other in pale green, as long ribbons swirl around them. Walter L. Main founded his circus in 1885, sold it to the Scribner and Smith Circus in 1889. In 1890 his next circus consisted of a wagon show, converted later to rails which toured on 11 cars. By 1904 Main no longer personally managed circuses, but for 30 years leased his popular name to different managers, including Andrew Downie, and Floyd and Howard King. National Show Co.
