1930s Photos of Samoa.

Ca. 1930s. Ephemera. 15 photographs of Samoa ca. 1930s including one with Eva Novak, American silent film star in Pago Pago with Samoan Native. Many identified in ink either under or on the side of the image. Mostly of natives. Other photos include Native Judge in Tutuilla, Administrative Building Tutuilla, Naval Barracks Tutuilla, Business District Pago Pago, Siva siva Dance, Samoan 'Tapo' (Secretary of State), Samoan Native girls, a detachment of Samoan police (?) in traditional dress, with rifles and with a European commander at the front. Photos are 4"x3", one of military assembly is 8.5"x7". Good condition with handwritten notes on back of photos and in pen on front. Large photo has 1" tear on lower left of photo, 2 inches from bottom. Good + overall. Item #19734
