New York: Harper's Weekly, 1873. Large dashing color wood engraving depicting fashionable New Yorkers out for a ride in elegant horse drawn carriages, with gazebo and the sea with sailing ships in the distance. Ladies in their carriages hold elaborate parasols and gentlemen sport glossy black top hats. Signed "Schell & Hogan" at lower left, for the artists Francis H. Schell (1834 – 1909) and Thomas Hogan (1839 – 1900). Small damp marks top and bottom edges, not affecting image. 21 x 15" Very good condition. Item #19982
