The map "New Holland and its Dependencies" by Neele & Son has outline color and three insets, including: "Settlements in New South Wales"; "Settlement in Van Diemen's Land" and "Van Diemens Land". Tooley 1139 The map is styled somewhat on the map of Australia by Wilkinson, although the whole of Australia is illustrated here. The plate, titled "Sydney, New South Wales, with the entrance into Port Jackson", by James Fittler, after 'Vue d'une partie de la ville de Sydney', by Victor Pillement. The section on New Holland (pp849-863); followed by Van Diemen's Land; Papua, or New Guinea; New Britain and New Ireland; Solomon's Islands; New Hebrides; New Zealand; and Coral Reefs. Bound with the original title page. 4to, modern three quarter leather and marbled boards, title in gilt on leather label laid down at front board. Very good condition. Item #20109
