Comte Eugene de Civry is known for his historical and political work titled 'Napoleon III et Abd-El-Kader, Charlemagne et Witikind', which he dedicated to the Empress Eugenie in 1853, and in which the author depicts Napoleon and Abd el Kader, the Algerian emir, as contemporary heroes. Tall 8vo, frontispiece portrait, xvi, 394pp, ills. Half red calf and marbled boards, gilt title at spine. Boards rubbed at edges, spine rubbed.
