Bronze cast medal awarded to Huxham & Brown at the International Exhibition Sydney Australia 1879 [with] 6 printed Award variants.

London: Royal Mint, 1879. A large bronze prize medal featuring a view of the Sydney Garden Palace Exhibition Building with a female figure of New South Wales, which was awarded to Huxham & Brown. [With] Six variant round cut printed labels for the exhibition.

The bronze medal measures 3" in diameter, and is in uncirculated condition. The obverse in the center shows the female figure of New South Wales holding a colonial shield and a wreath and surrounded by items on display at the exhibition. Above the figure of New Suth Wales is ORTA RECENS QUAM PURA NITES. Around the rim, INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION - SYDNEY N.W.W. M.D.CCC.LXXIX. The reverse has a wreath around the rim and engraved in the center is HUXHAM & BROWN - SECOND AWARD - ETC.. The names J.S. & A.B. Wyon are on the medal.

The medal was issued by Australian International Exhibition Commissioners, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1879-1880, and minted at the Royal Mint in London. Fine. Item #20638
