Littell's Living Age was a magazine that comprised sophisticated selections from various British and American magazines and newspapers, a "Reader's Digest" of it's day. It was generally published on a weekly basis for almost a century, from 1844 to 1941. It was also often the first US publication of serialized stories by important mid-19th century authors such as Trollope. 8vo, approximately 800 pp, bound in original pebbled black morocco with brown boards, gilt title & decoration on raised bands. Generally a little rubbed, boards marked (esp. rear board), spine leather slightly cracked. Very good overall. Item #20945
