Bold etching showing convicts in long boat waiting to climb up in to the HMS York, a retired ship of the line of the British Royal Navy which served in the Napoleonic Wars, but which was eventually stripped of her guns & converted to a floating prison. Drawn and etched by E.W. Cooke (1811-1877). On wove paper, very sharp impression. Image: 9 1/2 x 6 1/4"; paper 11 1/4 x 9" Fine. Item #21171
