For the Term of his Natural Life.

Chicago: E.A. Week & Co., 1892. First American edition. The novelization of the life of Rufus Dawes, transported to Australia for a crime he did not commit. This is a cheap yellow back format thriller with the usual inexpensive paper, illustrated at the front wrapper with the prisoner in striped prison clothing, and with ball and chain attached to his ankle. No. 8 in the Marguerite series.

8vo, frontispiece, 326pp. Yellow printed paper wrappers with red and black printed title and illustration. This copy however is in beautiful condition with the half title loose, the frontispiece cracked along gutter, but holding.

OCLC 82069401 records 2 copies of an 1892 printing by the Melbourne Publishing Co. of this title, but does not record this issue by E. A. Week. Both include the illustrations of Moppel and have 326 pages. Very good condition. Item #21632
