Focussing on the years following Truman's presidency and the new reality of the atomic age: "But one event occurred in 1945 of such magnitude that it was to revolutionize our relations with the world and usher in a new era for humanity, the fruits and goals and problems of which we cannot even now fully grasp. It was the atomic bomb". (p2).
