The author's account of his journey on the Old Oregon Trail; Meeker lobbied Congress for 25 years to mark and honor the Trail over which more than half a million pioneers struggled. Ezra Meeker (1830-1928) was a pioneer, merchant and farmer who at the age of 76 retraced his 1852 journey in reverse, traveling east and placing historical markers along the way, astonishing bystanders with his ancient prairie schooner.

Small 8vo, 160 pp, b&w printed photographic illustrations, map inside front wrapper. Printed wrappers with photographic portrait of Meeker in large brimmed hat at front wrapper, and printed photograph of Meeker leading an ox drawn covered wagon at the rear wrapper. Front wrapper a bit rubbed, thin scratch mark at portrait on front wrapper. Internally, very good condition. OCLC: 3880144. Very good overall. Item #22005
