Vienna: Anton Doll, 1832. First edition. Paperback. An early German-language history of New Holland, that includes two fine copper plate engravings of Sydney and Hobart. Both are derivative views being after Leopold Beyer and De Sainson, respectively. The work includes a long review of voyages to New Holland (87 pages). Hawaii, New Zealand and New Guinea also described in the volume. This volume was published as volume 30 of Schutz's series Allgemeine Erdkunde, and is printed on the spine.
8vo, 6 full-page engraved plates, [6], 409pp, [1]. Original printed paper wrappers uncut and unopened. Single college library ink stamp on front wrapper, some evidence of removed sticker; signature of pervious owner S. D. Wilcox. Front wrapper detached, o/w very good clean condition. As the only volume relevant to the Pacific it is recorded in Trove 2888567 as complete on its own. Item #22149
