Pamphlet with many unusual images of Central Australia on every page, including Alice Springs, MacDonnell Range, and Aborigine Missions; and with a long description of the Mulga tree inside the rear wrapper. The photographs of the Aborigine mission with accompanying text: "A practical Mission, operating some distance from Alice Springs, and also at other areas. Established over 50 years ago. ... Irrigation now established (Melbourne and Adelaide public supplied nearly L 3,000 to inaugurate the scheme)." B&w photographic illustrations include "School Parade before lessons"; Native Lads -- rambling on Saturday school holiday; Native Huts. Neat but considered now out of date -- not enough light and air; Water supply; A Wild Aboriginal; Mulga Vase. On the verso of the front cover is printed "American forces posting this book outside Australia, remove imprint by cutting along this line".

Oblong 8vo, 18pp, original tan printed paper wrappers, with map illustration at front wrapper, line of New Year verse printed on the verso, staplebound. With the rubber stamp of "William E.
