London: Kent & Co., 1854. Wraps. An article written by "various diggers" to "Place before an intending emigrant a faithful picture of what he may expect on arriving there" (pp14-15). This is a fascinating collection of anecdotes, starting with "Remaining at home a Frank Chapter on the Hardships" that includes a recommendation that women only embark under the protection of a male relative! The remainder of the articles are relayed in a similarly blunt manner.
