Likely associated in some way with the "Dictionary of Architecture" published in 1853 by the Architectural Publishing Association, this most interesting item includes 6 handsome lithographed plates of Chinese architecture by E. Ashworth, lithographed by Messrs Day & Son, Sept 30th 1851. These include: Chinam's Hong, Victoria, Hong Kong; private dwelling house Canton; Interior of Chinam's Hong, Victoria, Hong Kong (color); Miu Tong, Canton, Part of Tea Merchant's Dwelling House, Canton; Gable end of temple Macao (color); Street Scene Canton, near the Foreign Factories (color); Chinese Street Macao (color); Cloth Warehouse Canton. The plates are numbered 1-6 and Vol. 3 part 2, plates 1-6 in the upper left corner. 4to, (ii), (1)-18, 6 lithographed plates, 4 in color. Nicely bound in quarter green cloth and gilt leather.
