The Truth-Seeker and The Revealer: Early Issues of Australian New Thought Magazines.

Perth; Sydney: Veni Cooper-Mathieson, 1910-1917. Paperback. A long but broken run of the magazine The Truth-Seeker (1910-1913) and The Revealer (1915-1917), both magazines edited by and heavily written by Sister Veni Cooper-Mathieson [1867-1943]. Sister Veni was an early 20th century Australian "New Thought" philosopher, religious entrepreneur and posited herself as a thoroughly modern woman. Her teachings relied on biblical and Christian imagery and advocated sexual abstinence, female emancipation and true spiritualism as it pertained to marriage, which she otherwise regarded as a prison.
