Vermont: 1941. Print. A sweeping Vermont landscape of trees and hills, depicted in an etching by the Italian born American artist Luigi Lucioni. Lucioni (1900 - 1988) is noted for his landscapes of rural Vermont, reminiscent of northern Italy. His works are held in the collection of the Smithsonian and the De Young Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Large trees at the edge of meadow dominate the center of the image; a hint of a town is in the distance, with rooftops and church steeple, and mountains in the far distance. Large banks of clouds roll across the landscape. Signed in the print at the lower left corner and again in pencil below the print in the lower right. 12 x 7" Very good condition. Item #23273
