Sydney: 1912. Third edition. Lovely color illustrated wrappers on travel guide by the Australian company Burns Philp which was the first company to offer tourism to New Guinea, as early as 1884. This was a 5 week trip from Thursday Island to New Guinea. These New Guinea tours were the official beginning of tourist cruises in the South Pacific.

Complete with a letterhead paper circular dated 8th February, 1913, Sydney, soliciting interest in this tour. It is printed in blue with red highlights, and features a map printed in blue, showing travel routes from Australia to destinations throughout the South Pacific, the routes printed in red (as far north as Hong Kong) along with information on stops, duration and cost of return ticket.

Small 4to, 124pp, 4 folding color printed maps, b&w printed photographic illustrations throughout. Color pictorial stiff paper wrappers. Wrappers slightly rubbed and dusty, small library stamp top of front wrapper, paper spine slightly chipped. Trove 10029723 records 3 copies. Good + overall. Item #23529
