Lawrence Machine Shop. Advertising Broadside.

Lawrence Mass: 1850s. A poster size chromolithographic broadside featuring a large passenger locomotive, and two vignettes, including a view of the Lawrence Machine Shop Works where the engine was made, and the second vignette of scattered houses in the distance.

Colored advertising print depicting a passenger engine named the Abbott Lawrence. Above the main image are two vignettes. Image size 30 1/2 x 19 1/2". A clean tear at the base. In a 1960s wood frame. OCLC: 900280507, the American Textile History Museum, Boston Athenaeum and the Smithsonian are the 3 copies we have found. Laid down with some long closed tears and a bit tanned.
