This black & white street scene shows Douglas Street as a long dirt road, with the church steeple in the far distance. The card is published by W. R. Moseley of Thursday Island. Addressed to someone in San Francisco, the message is written in German and dated 1926. Stamped, the cancellation for Townsville, with the date indistinct.

This image not amongst the 40 postcards held in the most interesting postcard album held by the NLA (reference available on request). Corners a trifle rubbed but overall in very good condition. Item #23896
