London: Religious Tract Society, 1872. First edition. Hardcover. Twenty four magnificent chromolithographic illustrations in a bound volume of 4 titles told in verse, including 'My Birthday', 'The Little Mouse and Other Fables', 'Pilgrim Children', and 'The Lord's Prayer'.

These vibrant color plates were produced by Kronheim & Co., founded by the German born lithographer and wood engraver Joseph Martin Kronheim, who is noted for working with George Baxter, the English printer credited with the invention of commercially viable color printing using a complex process.

Oblong 4to, not paginated. Original lavish green gilt and black stamped cloth, binding sound, all plates are present, rubbed at corners and spine ends. Plates in very good condition. OCLC: 10834220. Very good overall. Item #23948
