Ca. 1896. Four trade cards advertising French organic fertilizer, one illustrated with a kangaroo, for use in French vineyards and derived from both French and American sheep manure.
The card with kangaroo illustration is for the firm E. T. O.: Engrais Tarnais Organique (61 rue de la Resse, Mazamet), with the other 3 advertising the company Henri Cros (and Cros Pere & Fils) of Pont de Larn, "pres Mazamet". Pont de Larn is located in southern France in the Pyrenees.
The card which advertises fertilizer for vineyards is illustrated with the seal for the Exposition at Montpelier of 1896. Cards measure approximately 5 x 4". Printed on colored card stock. Very good condition. Item #24362
