Depicting Picquart in Cherche-Midi military prison in Paris. Picquart was imprisoned in 1898 after gathering evidence against Major Esterhazy, following Captain Alfred Dreyfus’s sentence in 1894. The Dreyfus Affair was a complex anti-Semitic miscarriage of justice, a political scandal of the 3rd French Republic.
