Paris: Ca. 1919. Print. Signed (printed) original lithograph illustration possibly used for a cabaret such as 'Le Chat Noir', depicting a well dressed Parisian gentleman pursued by a topless cabaret dancer who has speared his hat on her umbrella. Signed in the print at the lower right.

Willette (1857-1926) was a French caricaturist, painter, lithographer and architect of the Moulin Rouge. Willette's famous 'Parce Domine' painting first decorated the Montmartre cabaret 'Le Chat Noir'; it is now at the Montmartre Museum. Willette also contributed posters to Masters of the Poster (Maitres de l'Affiche).

8 1/2 x 12 1/2" tipped on to heavier stock. Very good condition. Item #24533
