"Memories" the Magazine of the 19th London Old Comrades Association. (Surrender of Jerusalem).

London: 1921 - 1939. Wraps. Fifty five issues of the quarterly magazine of this Volunteer unit of the British Army, with material pertaining to its exploits in WWI in Europe and in the Middle East, most famously its receipt of the surrender of Jerusalem in December of 1917.

The 19th Battalion was the first Christian led army to take charge of the Holy City since the Crusades. The Ottoman Turks were defeated and withdrew, allowing the allies to profoundly reshape the Middle East.

The official account is excerpted here; it includes a b&w printed photographic illustration of the surrender, showing the Mayor of Jerusalem, and white truce flag, attempting to deliver the surrender document signed by the Ottoman Governor to Sergeants James Sedgewick and Frederick Hurcomb of 2/19th Battalion of the London Regiment. (Dec. 1921, p171.)

The total of the 55 quarterly issues includes 4 for 1921, 4 for 1922, 4 for 1923, 4 for 1924, 3 for 1925, 4 for 1926, 4 for 1927, 4 for 1928, 4 for 1929, 4 for 1930, 3 for 1931, and 2 for 1932 through 1939.
