WWI "Souvenir de France" silk & Belgian lace embroidered pillow sham.
1919. Exceptionally lovely hand embroidered souvenir French pillow sham with very wide alternating silk paneled and Belgian lace borders.
The stuffed center panel of the pillow features a decoration made up of three pale pink roses made from ribbon with hand embroidered leaves, and the years 1914 through 1919 hand embroidered in silk thread in the colors of the American, British, French and Italian flags. 1919 is the largest year, at the center of the panel, with the 1 represented by the American and British flag patterns, and the 9s representing the French and Italian flags.
