A Masonic Oration on the Death of Brother William S. Bush, Lieutenant of Marines, Who Was Killed on Board the Frigate Constitution… by the Junior Warden of Said Lodge, pamphlet.

Philadelphia: Bradford and Inskeep, November, 1812. Pamphlet. A eulogy delivered to the Pennsylvania Masonic Lodge where American marine William S. Bush was a member. Bush was in charge of marines on the USS Constitution, and died during a naval engagement with the British Frigate Guerrier on August 19, 1812. Includes Bush's biography.

"In the course of [USS Constitution's] famous battle with the Guerriere, the enemy’s prow became entangled in the Constitution’s mizzen shrouds, affording access by the marines. As Bush was readying his men, “a musket- ball entered by the left cheek-bone, and passing obliquely through the brain, terminated, at the instant, his short lived glory.”
