Complete monthly number, with article on the history of the slave trade titled, "Account of late Publication intitled "The Origin of the Negro Slave Trade", by Matthias Christian Sprengel" (pp 126 -129), which describes the origins of slavery in Africa, "long before the arrival of the Portuguese on their coasts".

The Hibernian covered news and politics in Ireland, Britain, Europe and North America, as well as theater and book reviews, original prose and poetry, and business, marriage and death notices. The printed illustrations included important personages, music & practical items such as sewing patterns.
