Livorno, Italy: Coltellini, 1763. A very appealing engraving showing a handsome flying squirrel eating a nut, with his great bushy tail curled behind him and a racing stripe of darker fur running along his outer arm and belly, while a lovely, slender hummingbird perches on a tree branch behind.
The title engraved on a banner above the animals. A large fine print, dark impression, printed on laid paper, with wide margins. 7 x 10" on paper 9 x 12 1/4".
