1976 - 1993. 20 charming color silk screened Christmas cards, by the noted New York scenic artist and illustrator Karl Ramet, including scenes in the city. Most are greeting cards, some postcard format, with the printed date & name "Karl Ramet".
New York City scenes include: opera in progress at the Met Opera seen from the wings; Central Park view with large Christmas tree; 1976 Tall Ships Parade with Brooklyn Bridge; a classic New York department store Christmas window display with passersby bearing gifts; and Central Park carousel with Santa riding in sleigh.
Other scenes include: log cabin in the snow; self portrait in rocking chair with Christmas tree; bouquet of flowers; and scenes in Europe (Venetian gondola; Viking longship; Amsterdam canal front; classic European town squares).
Ramet (1891 - 1994) was a scenic artist noted for his work on Broadway shows, vaudeville shows including sets for "Sliding Billy Watson", sets for the Ice Capades and for the Metropolitan Opera. Most approximately 6 x 4 1/4" folded; a few larger approx 9 x 6 1/2". Some are used by Ramet, most are blank. Very good condition. Item #25105
