Tennessee became a state in 1836. Includes an excerpt of Capt. White's Voyage and visit to a Cochin China Pagoda. And an article about 'The Flying Man'. '"The faculty for which he is so remarkable, is that of raising himself in the air, without any visible means, keeping himself suspended... and descending gradually... When asked to explain the process... he ... answers "I not know, I feel."'
