The USS Pensacola participated in 13 of 15 major campaigns in the Pacific War against the Japanese. The memoir was written in response to a letter from a student studying WWII. Robert Pennoyer was 19 years old when he served on the USS Pensacola, and has had a distinguished career as a lawyer, judge, activist to the present day.
Signed presentation copy addressed to Robert P. Patterson, who was Secretary of War under President Roosevelt during World War II.
