c. 1876. U.S. Government printed paid postage card advertising the Banking House of Forster, Ludlow & Co. in New York and Austin,Texas, soliciting investment in securities, with pertinent Texan facts.

The American Railroad Journal, Volume XXXIII, 1877, carries advertisements for Forster, Ludlow & Co Bankers at 7 Wall Street, Francis B. Forster, New York, B. C. Ludlow and Geo. B. Simpelman of Austin Texas. Simpelman was a former Travis County sheriff, attorney and later a member of this firm. The firm folded shortly thereafter.

Hand addressed to the Deep River National Bank in Connecticut and postmarked Sep. 9. 5 1/8 x 3", tan card, slt. fox spotting one edge. Otherwise very good condition. Item #25489
