Oblong album of 22 real albumen photographs of lovely sites in Paris, all titled in French below the image, including: Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, Eglise de la Madeleine (exterior), the Place de la Concorde, the Louvre (the courtyard with mature plantings), Jardin des Tuileries, Avenue de l'Opera (sign on building at left side reads "Halle Anglaise"), the Grand Opera, the Palais Royal, the Palais de la Bourse (with 2 horse drawn trolleys at the right, one with sign possibly "L'Exposition"); the Rue de Rivoli, La Conciergerie, the Palais de Luxembourg, the Fontaine Medicis, the Palais du Corps Legislatif, Panorama de Paris, Bois de Boulogne, Colonne Vendome, Dome des Invalides, Tombeau de Napoleon, Eglise Notre Dame, Eglise de la Madeleine (interior view), Le Pantheon, and Colonne de la Bastille.
Oblong 8vo album, 9 x 6 1/2", all edges gilt. Albumen photographs (5 3/4 x 3 3/4") laid down, with printed titles and borders. Bound in red gilt and black stamped cloth, "Souvenir de Paris" stamped in gilt on front cover. Period owner signature in ink at front paste down, Mary K. Drake, likely an American tourist. Album covers very gently rubbed at edges; albumen photographs bright and clean. Very good condition. Item #25604
