A handmade album (student's?) of classical art, consisting of reproductions of important Greek works & monuments, including 15 cyanotype photographs and 6 photogravures, each accompanied by a full page of manuscript notes by Susan Drake. The full page photogravures (9 x 12") are by A. W. Elson Co of Boston, copyright 1897.
The works of art in the album include: the great temple at Paestum; the tomb of Agamemnon, Mycene; the Lion Gate at Mycenae; Temple of Minerva, Corinth; The Theseum from the Southwest (Athens); the Acropolis; the Parthenon; Caryatid (South) Porch of the Erechtheum; the Temple of Victory; and the Monument to Lysicrates.
Signed on the front end paper, Susan Drake. The Society column of the Boston Sunday Post, November 30, 1913, records the marriage of Susan to Mr. Richard Sears of Mt. Vernon Street, Boston.
Plain paper covers, 12 x 9 1/2", bound with 2 brads. Unpaginated, cyanotype photographs tipped in, photogravures and b&w illustrations. Covers slightly dusty; damp stains to top edge of photogravures. Very good overall. Item #25713
