New York: 1865. Albumen photograph by Mathew B. Brady (ca. 1823 - 1896), an important early American photographer best known for his images of the Civil war, and his iconic portraits of Abraham Lincoln.

The image shows the turreted tower of the barracks at the left, looking down the facades and rows of trees to a white house in the distance.

From the United States Military Academy Year Book 1865. Curved upper corners, surrounded by gilt rule, name stamped in gold at lower left, and "New York" at lower right.
4 1/2 x 3 5/8". This same view is held in the U. S. National Archives (U.S. National Archives’ Local Identifier: 111-B-2299). Very good condition. Item #25722
